Our Equity Commitment
We are the Mountain Area Nutritional Needs Alliance (MANNA), a network of more than 200 partner agencies, volunteers, staff, board, and others working together in a shared mission of involving, educating, and uniting people in the work of ending hunger in Western North Carolina.
At MANNA FoodBank, we hold people experiencing hunger and food insecurity in Western North Carolina at the center of our actions and decisions. We envision a hunger-free Western North Carolina where each person can participate, prosper and have access to food that is both nourishing and in keeping with their culture. We recognize that systemic injustices and oppression exist—such as racism, classism, and sexism—and that these create and perpetuate conditions that sustain poverty, hunger, and health disparities.
Understanding this, we commit to serve marginalized communities, in both urban and rural environments, in ways that value who they are, their lived experiences and their unique barriers to accessing food. We resolve to educate ourselves by listening to and including these communities in our work, and to respond where bias and inequities appear. We will confront oppression and poverty by developing solutions to hunger that are community-driven, equitable, accessible, honor a diversity of needs, and value everyone. Our food programs and public policy efforts aim to build a society where everyone can thrive—celebrating our differences and working together to overcome injustices that might divide us… because no one should be hungry.

Rude people that only want your money. If you dont want your money held hostage go somewhere where they care about customers.
I have mailed two different times a deposit to this bank. They were both returned and unable to deliver. This last week the post office has a statement on the envelope that it is a vacant building. Now I again have to have someone physically go to the bank for me. Never had a problem with the Albemarle branch or the Westinghouse branch in the past.
Love the McClanahan branch. Jimmy and the rest of the staff really know how to take care of their clients.
First Citizens Bank located in Hollywood SC customer service is horrible. I have been in this institution on numerous occasions and they treat the elderly with know respect. My elderly love one was shaking after this most recent interaction. This is a shame!! Something has to be done about this. The service has declined over the years.
I am a long-term, even if not a high level, customer and despite this, I have never had any experience other than full cooperation when working with anyone at First Citizens, even when dealing with someone with whom I banks in cherokee north carolina never dealt. My only complaint (which is actually more of a wish) and which leads me to assign a "9" rating rather than a "10" is that although I can comprehend the consequences of well considered business decisions, there are now too few ATMs in Lancaster since the second branch closed.
Your information on this bank is wrong the hours are way off they open 8am to 5pm mom-Wed. Then 8am-530pm Thursday and Friday. The phone number is correct
About 2 months I walked in to check something on my statement.I was talking to the teller about itThe teller proceeded to walk into the managers office and talked to her about it. After a few minutes I stepped into the managers office, as soon as I stepped in the manager said can you please step out of my office I don't know you. I have been banking with first citizens bank for a very long time and I have never had anybody treat me as rude as she did. I THOUGHT I WAS THE CUSTOMER. after A FEW WEEKS THEY CLOSED OUT MY ACCOUNT ?
we stopped at the bank Friday to get our $20 bill changed into quarters but since we did not have banks in cherokee north carolina account there - they would not give us quarters for our $20. What would be the threat??? We had cash and we wanted cash - we were not trying to cash a personal check banks in cherokee north carolina anything like that. We are snowbirds from the north and did not have a local bank in SC. However, we went to Wells Fargo across the street and they were very pleasant and were pleased to give us quarters for our $20 bill. How rude of Ist Citizen Bank! Sometime policies do not make sense????
Kathy F.you are such a blessing to have at First Citizen bank in Mauldin SC, Butler rd. You are Always professional, courteous and kind. Thank you for making our banking experience a pleasure. Thank you for being a wonderful person.
